Refuse to Spot the Differences
July 26, 2019, 11:04 AM

Have you ever seen those activities where you are shown two similar drawings or pictures, and you are directed to try and "spot the differences" between the two? Maybe one has the boy wearing a belt and the other shows him without one. Maybe one picture has a vase with two flowers and the other shows the vase with three. Some people are really keen at spotting the differences, not only in those drawings, by also in the people around them. They notice differences in shade of skin, heritage, clothes, size, weight, language spoken, age, socioeconomic level, and even beliefs. Instead of seeing these as interesting aspects of the unique person, some people see these differences as a reason to mock, to scorn, to exlude, or even to mistreat those who aren't just like themselves. God was very clear in expressing His thoughts about differences between the people He created. In Romans 10:12, the Bible states, "For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile -the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him."

Did you get that? The SAME Lord is LORD of ALL. The same Lord who loves, cherishes, and saves YOU is the same Lord who loves, cherishes, and longs to save EVERYONE!

It would be wise of us to refuse to spot the differences when it comes to people around us. Instead, let's try to see others as God does...                as souls who need Jesus!
